About

IMG_3854

I am a 24 year old recent graduate of California State University, San Marcos. My degree is in Political Science: Global Concentration. I’m currently living in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and teaching English literacy to primary school students as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I also work with a non-profit youth organization on the island.

This blog is meant to document my travels, past and present. It includes backpacking, hiking, and camping exploits, along with any other traveling I do. Most of my posts will be Peace Corps related for the next couple years, but don’t be surprised if I sneak some other topics in.

I will be in the West Indies until August 2017.

  1. I have a small suggestion. When you post for Peace Corps have a footer that is a disclaimer that the opinions here are yours alone. You can do that in the widgets under footer. Mine only puts that up when I post under the category of Peace Corps. This keeps everyone happy, sometimes we post about frustrations that are more directly associated with lack of materials and resources. Best of luck to you and be prepared for joy and sadness along with the greatest adventure one can ever take on.

    • Thanks! I’ll definitely do that. I’m still anxiously awaiting an invitation, but if and when I start making PC posts, I’ll be sure to do that.

      • I got mine last month. I was going to wait until September, but experience is that a volunteer that is evacuated needs a reassignment ASAP or they lose their desire to go back. So I leave in March, but I am truly excited for a new adventure.

    • Congratulations! It sounds from your last post that you learned a lot from your first post despite the sad circumstances. It’s good that you’re keeping your own hope alive. Best of luck channeling your experiences into success in your new adventure. My nominated program isn’t until June, so I still have a few months of waiting.
